Most common methods for cooking a fish
Frying:
One of the most common method to cook a fish is frying. The fish have to be cleaned and if possible dried first.
Before frying you need to roll the pieces in flour. The fish skin will become more crispy and tasty.
If you like you can mix the flour with some spices like red pepper, salt, lovage, etc. And you can also mix it with water or better with beer.
If you have a fish filets you can even roll them in eggs and breadcrumb.
The frying have to be done in vegetable or olive oil.
Almost any fish can be fried. Trout, Garfish, Scad, Red Mullet, Turbot, Chub, etc.
Baking:
Another common method is baking.
If you want to bake your fish you can marinate it for 30 minutes before baking it.

You can bake the fish in oven, grill or barbeque.
